Ain't she purty?
My new Dell Latitude 630 will be here next week.
[insert girlish giggling here]
Everything a girl needs to sit in random Maryland Starbuck's and complete great architectural masterpieces. Yep, I finally broke the news to my company that in exactly 39 days (39 days!!) I will be leaving the great state of Pennsylvania to move in with my sweetie-pie-snookum-butt (though I worded it slightly differently in the meeting) (yes, only slightly).
Their reaction?
I've been awarded a telecommuting position.
I so rock.
And life is so good.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Sweetie-pie-snookum-butt + Job = AWESOME
Totally awsome!!!
I like Maryland, the Tiki Bar just opened on the Island (Solomons) this past weekend, it was great fun!!!
I SO wish I could telecommute...with my job, I can totally work from anywhere as long as there's a phone line and a phone, but they won't let you unless it's absolutely necessary.
Congratulations!
But don't let that stop you from looking around in Maryland. You might find a great job that pays more AND lets you work from home a few days a week. Employers will do great things for good talent.
Congrats
We, all knew this was gonna work out for you ;)
The 630 is an awesome piece of kit as well Award winning hardware ;)
(Sorry I've put the geek away now)
39 days is that all god thats gone quick!!
Sweet.
Pink said she is glad you didn't get the skinny Apple laptop cause she would be jealous.
you so rock. i can't wait to come visit in maryland. will that be before or after you and thing visit in nyc?
Telecommuting position? Did they break down the details for you??? That is awesome!!! Get the details though -- like will they expect you to show up in person for weekly meetings, etc.
39 days? Cripes that is right around the corner! Are the kids getting excited???
congratulations to you and your snookum-butt.
that's a cute li'l endearment, btw...
Very pretty. Congrats
Congratulations!!!
Dang, time flies!
Good on ya Babe. You deserve no less. SPSB is a great moniker, the price is enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you everyone.
Yes, it's coming fast and I'm really excited (and nervous but that's for another day).
And I actually have my resume and cover letter all updated and was preparing for the job search. You really can't swing a dead cat in Md without hitting a job in my field, and for more money to boot. However, the trade-off of not having to commute (after years of spending 3hrs a day in the car) and not having to find before and/or after school care for The Girl and actually getting to see the kids more...well, I'll take less pay thank you very much.
Ironically, CC, even if I had to drive up once a week for meetings, that would still be less driving per week then I do now.
And the Macbook Air's are awesome. BUT incapable of handling the software I use. Curses!
The kids are terribly excited though The Girl is having a hard time grasping the concept that this is more then a visit. She's never moved before, though The Paperweight is on his 4th apartment since he moved out of here so you would think she'd grasp the concept a little. Perhaps it's just the idea of her living her home...
Congratulations on it all. :)
But I have to admit, sometimes I miss the snarky posts. ;)
Sounds like a great deal then!
Duh... that "anonymous" was me. I got ahead of myself after dealing with those stupid letters you have to type in.
You rock! Get everything you had hoped for and get paid for it! Yahoo! And Snookum Butt too! Yippee!
congrats on all the cool stuff happening. So happy to have you back in blog land!
There's internet in Maryland, at least for a few more years, so I'm cool with you moving, in case you cared. I know that was one of your criteria.
Congrats on the big changes!
that's a mighty nice looking keyboard you got there!
Is there a moving party planned?
You heard about me getting the 620. You just had to do one better didn't you??
Congrats! I know I love mine, you will too
Wait..you told them you were leaving and they gave you a promotion? Damn...I need your connections
